I grew up on the beautiful streets of Dublin, Ireland. As a result of this I grew up playing Gaelic football and hurling from a young age along with football. These two sports are mainly played in Ireland and are amateur sports. I started coaching when I was 14 years old when I was helping at my local GAA clubs summer camps. Since then, my coaching journey has consisted of many roles in Gaelic football, hurling and football with football having been my focus. I have also completed many coach education courses including going to college to study sports management and coaching. Sports have always been a massive part of my life since a young age. I love watching, playing, and coaching sport but coaching sport really inspired me. The joys of watching people learning new skills and growing not just in sport but as a person. Noticing the impact that I have in a person’s life as a coach is one of the most rewarding parts. I have absolutely zero rowing experience so one thing I’m really looking forward to doing is learning about the sport and testing myself to coach a new sport. The LYR mission really inspires me and working with the amazing team they have.
